Clarenville, Nov. 2004 – Georgia Family Magazine has recently announced the Winning Games 2004. This prestigious magazine chooses Oikos Game: A Personal Development and Emotional Skills Game as one of five notable games.
Dr. Michael Rayel, a Psychiatrist and game inventor, is proud of this recognition. “Putting Oikos Game along with these great games created by big manufacturers is certainly an honor. This only motivates me to create more worthwhile games.”
Winning Games 2004:
1. Disney Extreme Skate Adventure
2. MLB Showdown 2-Player Starter Game
3. Oikos Game
4. Scene It? DVD Disney Family Game
5. Shrek Chess
The Oikos Game, an emotional and social skills board game, aims to help kids learn personal development and emotional skills such as facing strangers, problem solving, showing empathy, and dealing with bullies, etc. while having fun in the process.
Unlike other games, it focuses on teaching children’s emotional health and reinforces positive behavior. Being assertive, managing anger, coping behavior, and improving communication are some of the topics that children are exposed to while playing.
“Children should be exposed to emotional concepts and communication skills early on. During play, positive interaction between parents and children should strengthen not just learning and communication but also family bond,” Dr. Rayel asserts.
Also, Oikos Game introduces simple math to young minds and encourages players to read.
This year, Dr. Rayel and his wife Gayzelle started Oikos Global, creator of emotional and social skills games and personal development products.
