Clarenville, Sept. 2006 -- It’s not easy growing up these days. Kids need all the help they can get. And if you can make learning some of life’s most difficult lessons fun, well you can’t get better than that.
A highly skilled psychiatrist, Dr. Michael Rayel, has created new board game that challenges and helps children to learn positive ways to handle those tough emotional and personal situations they encounter in everyday life.
Oikos Game 3 is a fun situation filled challenge game, where players gain information and understanding as they are rewarded for proper decision-making on a wide range of topics: solving problems, decision-making, setting goals, taking responsibility, managing time, resolving conflicts, nurturing relationships, showing self-control; developing a positive mental attitude, to other topics including preventing drug and alcohol abuse.
Oikos Game 3 makes use of reinforcement, repetition, logical memorization, abstract reasoning, and interaction with other players to teach children the most important interpersonal skills needed to advance and achieve success in real life.
Oikos Game 3 is aimed at older kids ages 10 and up.
Dr. Michael Rayel, created the original award-winning Oikos Game to help young children (ages five and up) develop emotional intelligence.
When family members participate, real progress can be achieved on sensitive issues that are not commonly discussed at the dining room table or anywhere else.
Players can get to know each other better and experience and practice assertiveness, active listening and self-esteem boosting behaviors in a safe and secure environment.
